Every year we celebrate Peace Corps Night with a fabulous potluck, and raise funds to benefit a serving Peace Corps volunteer’s project. This is always the BEST and MOST DIVERSE potluck you will find anywhere around! This year’s Peace Corps Night didn’t disappoint–we had to add extra tables.
Our 2018 Peace Corps Night was held Saturday, June 30th 6pm- 8pm, at the Community Church of Chapel Hill, 106 Purefoy Road, 27514. A mixture of 55 RPCVs and guests attended.
This year, as in the past, we raised funds for a project being led by a serving PCV from North Carolina. The project this year was for the extension of drinking water pipes and storage tanks to a cluster of villages in The Gambia, led by Rachal Katerle from Chapel Hill. See more about her work on the Njoben Wolof Water Project here.
We had some excellent donations to our silent auction and great bidding from the attendees, resulting in a $1,000 donation to Rachal’s water project in The Gambia.
