Upgrading Computer and Electrical Systems in Nepal

Friday January 9, 2026

The North Carolina Peace Corps Association (NCPCA) is proud to share a digital learning initiative led by Peace Corps Response Volunteer Prashil Dulal through the Peace Corps Partnership Program (PCPP) grant, benefitting a school in Kaski District, Nepal.

Prashil Dulal served as a Digital Learning Trainer in Kaski District, Nepal, working closely with teachers to strengthen digital literacy, integrate technology into classroom instruction, and provide ICT training to neighboring schools. He also supported the school by repairing, upgrading, and maintaining existing computer equipment.

The school had 34 working computers, but its electrical infrastructure was not sufficient to support them reliably. Frequent power outages were compounded by a failing battery backup system, regularly interrupting classes and reducing student learning time.

Through this PCPP grant, Prashil secured funding to add 25 computers to the lab and address the underlying electrical issues. The project replaced unusable batteries, restored those that could be repaired, and upgraded the electrical system to consistently and safely support the expanded computer lab.
